These terms cover NoLie Wi-Fi, the Android app, and the one-off unlock inside it. They are written in plain English on purpose. Nothing in them takes away rights you have by law.

The free app

NoLie Wi-Fi is free to download and free to use. You can check every room, see them ranked and read each room's diagnosis for as long as you like. It is not a trial and it doesn't expire.

The one-off unlock

The whole-home verdict, history and re-checks are unlocked with a single payment of £4.99, made through Google Play. You pay once. There is no subscription, nothing renews and there is nothing else to buy. The unlock is tied to the Google account you bought it with, so it survives reinstalling the app and moving to a new phone, and can be restored from inside the app.

The price shown in Google Play at the moment you buy is the price. If we ever change it, the change applies to purchases after that date, not to yours.

Your rights when you buy

The unlock is digital content, and UK law protects you when you buy it. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 it must match its description, be fit for purpose and be of satisfactory quality. If it isn't, you are entitled to have it fixed, and if that doesn't work, to some or all of your money back. The description is the pricing section on the NoLie Wi-Fi page and inside the app. Anything else you may have read is not the description.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have fourteen days to change your mind about a purchase. Because the unlock is delivered the moment you buy it, Google Play asks you to agree to immediate delivery and to waive that fourteen-day right before the purchase completes. That is Google's standard flow for digital content and we can't change it. Google Play also has its own refund process, which you can use as well as your legal rights, not instead of them.

If something is wrong with the unlock, email us first. It is quicker than a form and we would rather fix it.

What the app tells you is advice, and the router is yours

The app measures your Wi-Fi and tells you, in plain words, what it thinks is wrong and what you could try. Those suggestions are based on what the phone can measure from where you're standing. They are honest, they are usually right, and they are still suggestions.

The app never changes your router's settings and can't. If you change a channel, move the router, or alter anything else in your own network, that is your decision and your responsibility. NoLie Labs is not responsible for changes you make to your own router, your own network or your own devices, or for anything that follows from them. If you aren't sure about a change, don't make it, or ask whoever supports your router.

Using the app

Use it on your own network or one you're allowed to measure. Don't use it to interfere with anyone else's network; it can't, but don't try. You may not resell the app or the unlock, or pass off the app as your own. The app, its name and its copy belong to NoLie Labs; the Instrument Sans typeface is used under the SIL Open Font License.

Limits on what we're liable for

The app is provided as it is. Beyond the rights the law gives you, which we don't limit, we don't promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or right about your particular house. To the extent the law allows, NoLie Labs is not liable for indirect losses, lost data, lost time, or anything you spend on hardware or services as a result of what the app suggested. Where we are liable and the law lets us cap it, our total liability to you for the unlock is the amount you paid for it.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law says can't be excluded.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, the date below moves and the new version applies to purchases made after it. We won't change the terms of a purchase you have already made.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts there. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your own courts. Nothing here stops you using a dispute service you're entitled to.
